Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Trydent LLC ("Trydent," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the Trydent platform, the trydent.io website, and the services we provide to trades businesses (the "Service"). Trydent is a product of Crissman Automation Solutions.
1. Two roles: when we are the controller vs. a processor
Trydent serves two kinds of people, and our role differs:
- Visitors and business clients. When you browse trydent.io or sign up to run your business on Trydent, we are the "controller" of your personal information and this Policy governs.
- Your customers' data. When you (a business client) use Trydent to manage your own customers, leads, jobs, invoices, and receipts, that information belongs to you. For it, you are the controller and we act as your "processor," handling it only to provide the Service to you, as described in our Terms of Service. Your customers should look to your business's privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account and contact details. Your name, email, phone, business name, and business address.
- Onboarding content. Your logo and brand assets, business description, services, service area, hours, and the pricing you configure.
- Billing information. Handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we keep limited billing metadata and Stripe identifiers needed to manage your subscription.
- Communications. Messages you send us (support, contact forms, email).
Information collected automatically:
- Log and usage data. IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, used for security, debugging, and analytics.
- Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to run the Service and keep you signed in. We default to declining non-essential cookies. See "Cookies," below.
Information from services you connect: if you connect an integration (e.g., Stripe Connect for taking customer payments, or Google for Calendar/Ads), we receive the tokens and data needed to operate that feature. Access tokens are encrypted at rest.
Customer data you upload: data you enter about your own customers (leads, jobs, invoices, receipts). You are responsible for having the right to provide it to us.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To process payments and manage your subscription (via Stripe);
- To authenticate you and secure accounts (via Clerk);
- To provide support and respond to your requests;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- To send you service and transactional messages, and (with your consent where required) product updates;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. AI-assisted features
Some features use a third-party AI provider (Anthropic), for example, scanning an uploaded receipt to extract its details, or drafting advertising copy. Content you submit for these features is sent to the provider only to perform the requested task and return the result. It is not used to train third-party models. AI output can be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it.
5. How we share information (sub-processors)
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Clerk. Authentication and account management;
- Stripe. Subscription billing and (via Stripe Connect) your customer payments;
- Anthropic. AI-assisted features (receipt extraction, ad copy);
- Google. Calendar and Google Ads features you choose to connect;
- Resend. Transactional and notification email;
- Cloud storage (Amazon S3-compatible). Storage of uploaded files such as logos and receipt images;
- Cloudflare. Website hosting, CDN, and security;
- Railway. Application and database hosting.
We may also disclose information to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to protect rights, safety, and security, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required).
6. Payments
Payment card processing is handled by Stripe. Card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We never receive or store your full card number. Your customers' payments route to your own connected Stripe account; Trydent never holds your funds.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies (for sign-in and core functionality) and limited analytics. We default to the most privacy-preserving option and decline non-essential cookies unless you choose otherwise. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may break parts of the Service.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law. In summary: unconverted sales leads are deleted after about 24 months; financial records (invoices, payments, expenses) are retained for about 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations; signature and IP evidence captured for approvals is minimized after about 24 months. When you close your account, we provide a reasonable export window and then delete or anonymize your data on the schedule above. Records we must keep for legal reasons are retained for the required period.
9. How we protect information
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and encrypt particularly sensitive fields (such as connected-account access tokens) at rest. Each business's data is isolated from every other business's, access is restricted on a need-to-know basis, and inbound payment webhooks are cryptographically verified. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@trydent.io; we will respond within the time required by applicable law. If you ask us to delete data we are legally required to retain (such as tax records), we will anonymize the personal fields and keep only the required record.
11. International users
Trydent is operated from the United States and your information is processed and stored there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
12. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date, and we will provide additional notice for material changes where required.
